Coleshill Town (sponsored by Oaklands Environmental) kicked off their 2025/26 league campaign in gritty style with a hard-fought 1–0 away win over newly promoted Bourne FC. In a game that demanded resilience, composure, and moments of quality, it was Dan Brooke’s clinical finish that proved decisive.

âš˝ Match-Winning Moment
The breakthrough came in the first half from a well-worked set piece. Ben Usher-Shipway (sponsored by John Rogers) launched a trademark long throw into the box, met by the towering leap of Taylor Carter-Byrne (sponsored by Pack Meadow) whose flicked header found Dan Brookes (sponsored by Ian and Keith Booth). With precision and power, Brookes volleyed home with his left foot, giving the Colemen a deserved lead.

Coach Gavin keeps a close eye on the build up to the goal.

🥅 Missed Opportunity to Double the Lead
Coleshill had the chance to put the game beyond reach in the second half when they were awarded a penalty. However, the Bourne keeper produced a superb save to deny the visitors a second goal, keeping the hosts in the contest and setting up a tense finish.

🧤 Defensive Steel and Standout Performances
As Bourne pushed forward, launching long balls and piling pressure, Coleshill’s defence stood firm. Goalkeeper Cameron Belford (sponsored by Tim Conway Trim and Tidy Coleshill) was voted Man of the Match by the travelling supporters for his commanding presence and crucial saves. Defender Tyreace Brown (sponsored by Paul Lillis and Paul Moulton) also earned plaudits for his composed and alert performance, snuffing out several dangerous moments.

🎙️ Manager’s Reaction
Manager Harry Harris was full of praise for his side after the final whistle:
“Delighted with today’s result. We played some excellent football and defended very well when we needed to second half when they lumped everything on us. We missed a penalty and had some good chances to make it more comfortable but I can’t complain because we couldn’t ask for a tougher start traveling 2 hours on the coach to a newly promoted team so I’m over the moon, the lads were brilliant. We now look forward to Monday night which will be another tough test against a very experienced team who are looking to challenge for the title but we’re confident and looking forward to it. I would like to thank all the supporters who came in their numbers today, they were brilliant. Up the Colemen.”

👏 Looking Ahead
With three points in the bag and confidence high, Coleshill now turn their attention to Monday night’s home fixture against Racing Club Warwick. It promises to be another stern test, but the Colemen have shown they’re ready to rise to the challenge.
