After a tough run of cup fixtures and league defeats, Coleshill Town delivered a much-needed boost to morale with a spirited 3–1 victory over Mickleover at Pack Meadow. The win lifts The Colemen up 4 places and reignites belief among players and supporters alike.
First Half: Wind, Width, and McSkeane’s Moment
With gusts swirling across the pitch, Coleshill adapted quickly—targeting Mickleover’s left flank with four incisive attacks down the right. Crosses to the back post caused chaos, forcing the visiting keeper into early saves.
In the 18th minute, pressure paid off. A corner ricocheted around the box before falling to Alex McSkeane on the edge. His clean volley flew past the keeper, opening his account and giving Coleshill the lead.
The right-sided threat continued until the half-hour mark, when Mickleover began to settle and apply pressure. Coleshill’s back line held firm as the visitors grew into the game, but the hosts went into the break with a slender advantage.
Second Half Surge: Rowe, Mandes, and a Wind-Assisted Scare
Mickleover resumed with intent, but Theo Rowe doubled Coleshill’s lead in the 53rd minute, beating the keeper at the near post after a sharp move.
Just two minutes later, Ben Usher-Shipway broke from halfway, fed McSkeane, who slipped the ball to Bassit Mandes—coolly slotting home the third. The Pack Meadow faithful erupted, sensing relief.
But Mickleover weren’t done. In the 73rd minute, a thunderous strike—helped by the wind—curled unexpectedly inside the post, catching Cameron off guard. The keeper redeemed himself in the 81st minute, tipping another fierce shot onto the post, with the defence clearing the rebound.
Final Whistle: Grit and Growth
Both sides continued to create chances, but Coleshill held firm. The 3–1 win marks a turning point in their season, restoring confidence and rewarding the fans who braved the conditions.
With McSkeane’s standout performance, Rowe’s sharp finish, and Mandes’ composure, The Colemen showed they’re ready to climb the table. The wind may have howled, but Coleshill’s resolve roared louder.
