Tuesday, July 15, 2025 – Pack Meadow, Coleshill

In a lively preseason clash on Tuesday night, Coleshill Town gave another good account of themselves with a commanding 3–0 win over Bromsgrove Sporting.

The visitors, who compete a step above in the Southern League Premier Central, were beaten by a sharp and confident Coleshill side.

It took just 10 minutes for the home team to take the lead, as Alex McSkeane coolly slotted home the opener after a mistake by the keeper letting a ball bounce out of his arms into Alex’s path.

Moments later, Coleshill doubled their advantage when a Ben Usher-Shipway long throw into the Sporting box was cleared to the edge of the box for Harry Sweeney to eventually pick up the ball, control it and a sweet struck half volley left the keeper stranded.

The crowd didn’t have to wait long for the third—Dan Brookes stepped up in the 27th minute to poke home a cheeky cross by Ben Usher-Shipway, leaving the keeper on the floor.

Despite facing tough opposition, Coleshill’s defence was resolute, neutralising Bromsgrove’s attacking threats and keeping a clean sheet. The team’s structure and discipline shone through, with precise pressing and smart transitions maintaining control from start to finish.

Though it was only a preseason friendly, the performance offered a glimpse of what’s to come for Coleshill. Overcoming a team from a higher league will no doubt boost morale heading into the competitive season.

We hope this result sparks momentum and confidence as the club looks to build on its strong summer form.
