Manners Brace Lights Up Pack Meadow

Coleshill Town FC delivered exactly the performance they needed in a fiercely contested Bank Holiday derby against Boldmere St Michaels, producing ninety minutes of control, intensity and character — even if the final score didn’t reflect the effort on show.

Coleshill were on the front foot from the start, dictating play and restricting Boldmere to scraps. But on 24 minutes, against the run of play, Kyle Byrne slipped in behind the defence and slotted past Cam to make it 0–1. The setback didn’t shake Coleshill. They regained control quickly, and a long ball to home debutant Charlie Manners sparked the response. Manners brought it down superbly, drove into the box, and was clipped by the Boldmere captain — penalty. Manners stepped up and buried it, his first goal for Coleshill.

Five minutes later, a slip in the Coleshill box handed Boldmere a penalty of their own, and Tolani Omotola sent Cam the wrong way to restore the visitors’ lead at 1–2. Again, Coleshill refused to fold. On 41 minutes, returning favourite Tyreace met a trademark Ben Usher‑Shipway long throw, glancing a header into the net to level the game at 2–2 heading into the break.

Both sides came out hunting a winner in the second half, but it was Coleshill who struck first. A corner routine saw Mason Rees thread a clever ball through to debutant Callum Witts, who squared across the six‑yard box for a charging Charlie Manners to smash home his second of the afternoon — 3–2 and Pack Meadow bouncing.

Boldmere pushed late, and Coleshill continued to create half chances of their own, but deep into stoppage time a floated free‑kick from Connor Armstrong wasn’t cleared, falling to James Tague who poked home to snatch a point at 3–3.

After the match, Harry Harris praised the team’s display, saying he was delighted with the overall performance. While it was frustrating not to take all three points, he stressed that after recent disappointments, this was a clear sign Coleshill are on the right track.
