Pack Meadow | Northern Premier League Midlands

Pack Meadow basked in spring sunshine as league leaders Carlton Town arrived in town, but it was The Colemen who shone brightest in a thrilling 2–1 victory that tightened their grip on the playoff places.

A Lightning Start

Coleshill couldn’t have scripted a better opening. With just 43 seconds on the clock, Bassit Mandey pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a crisp right‑footed half‑volley. It flew low to the keeper’s left, leaving him rooted as Pack Meadow erupted.

The early goal set the tone. Coleshill poured forward down both wings, whipping in dangerous crosses and unsettling the Carlton back line. On another day, The Colemen could easily have been three goals up inside six minutes.

End‑to‑End Action

Carlton eventually settled and carved out their first real opening on 13 minutes. A break down the left forced Cam into a difficult decision, but he recovered superbly—springing low to his right to push away a sharp early strike.

Moments later, Coleshill doubled their lead. Mason Rees pressed high, robbed the Carlton defence, and suddenly found himself clean through. Calm as you like, he slid the ball past the keeper for 2–0.

Carlton’s best chance of the half came from a free‑kick swung in from the left. Cam punched clear under pressure, but the ball dropped to the edge of the D. A volley came flying back through a crowd, took a slight deflection, and slightly wrong‑footed the keeper. As it spun toward goal, a Carlton forward pounced—only for Cam to produce a full‑stretch save to claw it away for a corner. A huge moment.

Second Half: Both Sides Go For It

The second half followed the same breathless pattern. Carlton made several changes and grew into the game, while Coleshill continued to threaten on the break. Both keepers were called into action as the match opened up, with chances at both ends.

When the board went up showing seven minutes added on, the tension rose. On 46 minutes Carlton finally found a way through. Jason Law collected the ball on the edge of the box, created half a yard, and curled a precise finish inside Cam’s right‑hand post.

The visitors suddenly found an extra gear and threw everything forward, but Coleshill stood tall. Every header, every block, every clearance was met with roars from the home crowd. The Colemen refused to buckle.

A Huge Win in the Playoff Race

The final whistle brought relief and celebration in equal measure. With Belper losing, Wellingborough drawing, and AFC Rushden & Diamonds slipping up, Coleshill’s win lifts them to 4th place and gives them valuable breathing room in the playoff chase.

A Perfect Day at Pack Meadow

Great weather. Great fans. Great football. And most importantly—a great result for The Colemen.
