Coleshill Town slipped to a frustrating 4–1 defeat on the road at Racing Club Warwick, a result that tightens the playoff race and leaves the Colemen with work to do in the final two games of the season.

A Tough Start and an Early Setback

The hosts took the lead after 15 minutes when James Harding met a corner with a glancing header that drifted inside Cams near post. It was a soft goal to concede, and it handed Warwick the early momentum.

Coleshill responded with spells of possession and half‑chances, but the game’s turning point arrived early in the second half. Captain Taylor Carter‑Byrne, already on a yellow, was shown a second caution for what looked like another innocuous challenge. The red card in the 56th minute left Coleshill with a mountain to climb.

Warwick Take Control

The numerical advantage told quickly. On 67 minutes, Archie Hamp doubled Warwick’s lead, rising at the back post to guide a header back across Cam and into the net.
Just minutes later, a dangerous low cross into the six‑yard box caused chaos, and the ball was bundled over the line at the back post to make it 3–0.

A Glimmer of Hope

Coleshill did find a response. In the 72nd minute, Gio delivered a sharp cross to the near post, where Mason Rees cleverly flicked the ball to the back stick. Daniel Brooks arrived perfectly to tap home and give the Colemen a lifeline.
For a moment, belief flickered.

Hamp Strikes Again

But any hopes of a comeback were extinguished just five minutes later. Another Warwick cross caused problems, and Archie Hamp climbed highest to head home his second of the afternoon, restoring the three‑goal cushion and sealing the points.

The State of Play

The result closes the gap between the sides to just three points with two matches remaining. Coleshill face a challenging finish — Corby Town at home followed by a trip to AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Racing Club Warwick, meanwhile, take on Loughborough Students and St Neots Town.

On paper, Warwick’s run‑in looks kinder, but both of their opponents have been picking up results. Nothing is straightforward at this stage of the season, and the pressure is now firmly on as the Colemen look to finish the campaign strongly.
